Here is an email I opened a few minutes ago:
Wanted to let you know I notice considerable differences in the way I feel!!! I am so excited. My sinuses are even getting better, which have been a mess for 15 years! Have cut down a little on dairy. But really think what you do on my body is what is doing it. See you Sat. Connie
Connie has received 2 adjustments in 2 weeks. Once adjusted so that the nervous system can ‘do it’s thing’, which is do EVERYTHING, you not only FEEL better, your body works better.

I took a picture of this card in my friend’s office. It relays a message that we are strong. Chiropractic recognizes this in our training and when we adjust you. Your innate intelligence to heal and be well is POWERFUL. When that power is set free through the adjustment of your spine, you not only feel better, you ARE better, naturally.

Why are we sometimes sore after the first one or two adjustments?
I always explain to new people that they may feel sore that day or the next after their first adjustment. The Activator spine and extremity adjustment I perform is so light that for most people they are skeptical that the “clicker” is even moving the bone, much less going to cause any soreness.
Have you ever felt sore after new exercises? Have you ever felt sore after having the braces on your teeth tightened? A similar principle is a work: as your body moves toward optimum spinal and nerve function, the body has to CHANGE toward that new alignment and functioning.
The spinal muscles deep down are changing to adapt to the new motion we gave it. The larger postural muscles are adapting too.
BONUS: You not only feel better when your spine is adjusted, moving, balanced…your spinal discs also get more nutrition, slowing the disc degeneration process!
When your spine moves freely, your nervous system is under less stress. Your nervous system is in constant communication with your mental, physical and chemical environment. Less nerve stress, greater communication. Greater communication, better ability to deal with life’s ups and downs.
You not only feel better, you are better!
I look forward to seeing you, and adjusting you toward the path of feeling better and staying better,
Dr. Lisa

Are you taking in the season with deep, full breaths… arms open wide… smiling because you feel great?
Yes? Fantastic. That is the bodies natural state: healthy and happy.
Would you ‘need’ a spinal adjustment check-up, even if you feel no pain?
‘Need’, probably not. ‘Benefit From’, absolutely!
One of the benefits of advanced Activator chiropractic technique is that we can locate and reduce spinal stress (subluxations) with or without perceived pain.
That is true HEALTH care: prevention and maintenance.

Balance, Chronic Pain and Chiropractic
The results showed decreased pain and increased balance; helping to avoid falls

When we age, it seems that there are more and more challenges to our health and well being. Falling and chronic pain are most likely fighting to be #1 on that list. Whether there was a prior injury, decades of hard labor, years of inactivity or just simple daily wear and tear, chronic pain is difficult to manage. Our societal tendencies are to medicate to “make the pain go away,” but the TRUTH is, it is still there, we just feel it less. What happens to our bodies when year after year, we continue to work through it? Well, the problem gets worse and we take more pills!
In a recent study from the University of California’s Geriatric Primary Care lecture, the presenter stated, “Ambulatory elderly fill between 9-13 prescriptions a year…” (Johnston, 2001, slide 3 ).She goes on to state, “Surveys indicate that elders take average of 2-4 nonprescription drugs daily” (Johnston, 2001, slide 5). Adding additional “pills” to the mix for pain is often not a very good idea. Although necessary medications are clearly indicated and needed, what are the options for those medications that are optional and potentially dangerous when taken over a long period of time?
In a recent study published in a chiropractic research journal, the authors stated, “The purpose of this study was to collect preliminary information on the effect of a limited and extended course of chiropractic care on balance, chronic pain, and associated dizziness in a sample of older adults with impaired balance” (Hawk, Cambron, & Pfefer, 2009, p.438). The results showed decreased pain and increased balance (helping to avoid falls).
The authors finally reported, “Another interesting finding in this study that warrants further investigation is that it appeared that for the group on the extended care schedule, pain and disability decreased and remained at a lower level than for the limited care schedule, for the year we followed patients. This provides preliminary support for chiropractic maintenance care for older adults with chronic pain” (Hawk, Cambron, & Pfefer, 2009, p.445).
This study along with many others concludes that a drug-free approach of chiropractic care is one of the best solutions for pregnant patients with balance disorders and chronic pain.

Chiropractic care adds life to your years by balancing the spine. This balancing affects how our nervous system communicates to our joints and our cells. Our nerves (brain, spinal cord) control each and every function of our life.
So…. have greater nerve communication, have greater life!
“A chiropractic session with Dr. Berry is simultaneously relaxing and engaging. I think of the Activator Method as fine-tuning the body, with each vertebrae getting its perfect tweak. The movements she has you do (Left shoulder off the table, then down. Head to the left, back to center) somehow tell her what adjustments need to be made with her Activator, a handy little device that puts things back in its proper place with a painless “click”. As she works, Dr. Berry tells you what she’s doing and the function of that particular body part. I’ve learned so much about my body from these sessions. When I get up from the table, I feel wonderful!” – Lisa V., January 2011
